According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Lifetime network is currently developing a 'Dance Moms' spin off series to be called ICE MOMS. The docuseries will be set in the competitive world of figure skating.
The show is from Collins Avenue, the producers of 'Dance Moms'. It will center around two esteemed coaches in the world of competitive figure skating, Laurie Vigilante and Adam Schmidt, who are known to push parents buttons as they put their students through rigorous training to become skating champs.
Rob Sharenow, executive vice president of Lifetime's programming commented, "We’ve conquered the world of competitive dance with our hit Dance Moms...Now, we’re bringing the format to the intensely competitive world of figure skating and revealing the explosive dynamic between the kids, parents and coaches who all want to be the best. We’ll show all the blood, sweat and tears it takes to be a champion on ice."'Dance Moms' recently returned for its second season this month, breaking ratings records with over 2.5 million viewers.
