Seacoast Repertory Theatre and Let's "B" Reel have announced that their award winning Red Light series will be presenting the cult musical classic, XANADU on April 22nd, 2015. In addition to the screening, Seacoast Roller Derby and Lady Luck Burlesque will be on hand for an extra special pre-show performance, as well as original animation cells from the film will be on display in the Rep's Lobby.

"Xanadu has been at the top of our list, ever since day one..." says Knate Higgins, special series curator at The Rep. "Both Tim and I are HUGE fans of the film and of Electric Light Orchestra. Plus, with Seacoast Roller Derby, Lady Luck Burlesque AND original cells from the film on display, this makes for one hell of a screening..."

Xanadu is a 1980 cult musical starring Olivia Newton John, Michael Beck and Gene Kelly (in his last film role). Xanadu follows painter and dreamer Sonny Malone (Beck) as he longs to find his muse while working as a dead end album cover artist. Kira (John), a roller skating Grecian muse, is sent down from Mount Olympus to awaken the budding artist's heart and dreams. Soon both meet up with a wealthy proprietor (Kelly) and the plans for the world's greatest roller skating night club (XANADU) are under way. The film is full of audacious dialogue, outrageous costumes and dream sequences. A full on movie musical, with a score written and produced by Jeff Lyne of ELO, Xanadu was often regarded as the "nail in the coffin" for movie musicals.

"Bunny (Higgins) and I both are Xanadu fanatics. The films score is one you can't help but fall in love with. I expect people will be singing along with the film..." says Timothy Fife, Co-director of Let's "B" Reel. "Not to mention, we tracked down original animation cells from the films animated dream sequence...if that's not worth $10 alone...I don't know what is!"

Let's "B" Reel presents XANADU runs one night only April 22nd at 7:30pm. Bar is open at 6:30pm. Advance tickets are $10, and day of show tickets are pay what you want. Seating is limited and due to high demand, advance purchase is recommended. Tickets may be purchased online at www.seacoastrep.org, in person at 125 Bow Street Portsmouth, NH 03801, or over the phone at 603.433.4472.
