Lexus and Above Average announced today that they have teamed up to release a new, eight-episode season of "Hudson Valley Ballers"-the popular Web series co-created by "Saturday Night Live" writers James Anderson and Paula Pell, and writer Michelle Lawler-exclusively on the Lexus-owned broadband channel, L/Studio (http://www.lstudio.com).
Produced by Above Average-the digital arm of Broadway Video-"Hudson Valley Ballers" is a quirky, comical, and imaginative Web series that follows the lives of "Saturday Night Live" writers and best friends James Anderson and Paula Pell after they are semi-fired from their jobs and decide to open a bed and brunch in the Hudson Valley. In doing so, they encounter an interesting array of characters who stay at their The Embarrassed Lamb BnB, portrayed by stars that will include Rachel Dratch, Alex Karpovsky, Greta Lee, Cecily Strong, Mickey Sumner, and many other surprise guest stars. With the first four episodes available immediately and the latter four episodes becoming available in early August, this new eight-episode installment of "Hudson Valley Ballers" serves as the Web series' second season and can be viewed at LStudio.com (http://www.lstudio.com/hudson-valley-ballers). The season premiere features James and Paula leaving their jobs at "SNL" and heading up to the Hudson Valley to claim their new, dilapidated BnB from its highly strange former owner, played by Rachel Dratch.
"As L/Studio continues to create innovative and engaging content, the quirky 'Hudson Valley Ballers' is a welcome addition to our series lineup," said Brian Smith, Lexus vice president of marketing. "L/Studio offers artists a creative forum for passion projects, and we're excited to partner with the team behind this series as it is another opportunity to engage and entertain our audience."
"As one of Above Average's most popular series, 'Hudson Valley Ballers' has always been a joy for us to bring to life, and we were thrilled with the opportunity to partner with Lexus and L/Studio to make the second season even bigger than the first," said Jennifer Danielson, General Manager of Above Average. "James and Paula are hilarious writers and performers, and they helped assemble another amazing guest cast this season that viewers are sure to be excited about."
"Hudson Valley Ballers" co-creators and co-stars James Anderson and Paula Pell have been friends for over 30 years, and have written for "Saturday Night Live" for over a combined 33 years. The two have also both written for and appeared on "30 Rock." The first season of "Hudson Valley Ballers" premiered in December 2013, and was produced by and is currently available on AboveAverage.com.
