Mobile Applications are growing faster than anyone could have imagined. If you were to do a random search on people at dining tables, pockets, or women handbags, you will find more than 90 percent of them with phones. That's not news; the better part of this representative fraction will be having smartphones and other gadgets like tablets. Jimmy Johnson, in his popular show "Leading Edge", will be exploring this current trend in a new segment.

Some of the common mobile apps taking the market by storm include Android, iOS, and Windows. The consumer market has resorted to them, perhaps due to the fact that they are a great boost to mobility.

Consequently, this has seen an increase in the activities that these gadgets are used for. For instance, the latest research shows that mobile internet traffic is 15 percent of the general internet traffic. Notably, many people access social networks via mobile phones. It is estimated that this population exceeds 1.2 billion people.

The new "Leading Edge" segment with Jimmy Johnson will look to highlight the ways this technology is being used, such as online shopping, browsing for something while on the move, and completing specific tasks.

As time goes by, the mobile application technology continues to scale the heights of popularity. There is no doubt that people have a deep passion for technology. It is becoming a lifestyle for many who are after flexibility and convenience.

The series is distributed to Public Television stations throughout the United States, and not through PBS. Please visit the Leading Edge website at http://www.leadingedgeseries.com or email the producers at info(at)leadingedgeseries(dot)com for more information.
