According to The Hollywood Reporter, Laurence Fishburne is set to appear in a recurring role on NBC's new drama series HANNIBAL. Series creator Bryan Fuller will write and executive produce.
The actor will portray 'Jack Crawford', the head of the FBI's behavioral sciences unit. The role was portrayed by Dennis Farina in the HANNIBAL feature film. Crawford is described as "a tough cop who seems to have been born to hunt serial killers and lacking the type of empathy that informs the lives of both Will and Hannibal and knows he needs Will to be his bird-dog. His greatest mission is to stop sociopaths before they kill more - even if that means sacrificing Will's psyche in the process."
As previously reported, Hugh Dancy will star as Will Graham in the series about a criminal profiler who is searching for a serial killer and must turn to Dr. Lechter for help in solving the case. Mads Mikkelsen will portray Lechter in the 13-episode drama.
Fishburne won a Tony Award for Two Trains Running and received a Tony nomination for Thurgood. His TV and film credits include CSI, What's Love Got to Do With It? and Apoclapyse Now.
