Lauren Alaina to Appear on Fox's AMERICAN COUNTRY NEW YEAR'S EVE LIVE, 12/31

As first reported on TVLine.com, American Idol runner up Lauren Alaina will be performing on the Fox network's New Year's Eve Special on December 31st.  This year, the special will have a country theme and will include Alaina and singer Rodney Atkins. 

The special, entitled, 'American Country New Year’s Eve Live' will begin at 11:00 pm/et and will be broadcast from the Las Vegas strip and from New York City’s Times Square.  Additional performers and a host for the show have not yet been announced by the network.

Lauren Alaina was the runner-up contestant on last year's American Idol.  She has just released her newest single “Georgia Peaches,” which has become a Top 40 single on country radio.  In January 2012 she will be joining Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan on Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” 2012 Arena Tour.
