2015 proved to be a banner year for Lady Gaga - not only did she receive her 17th Grammy nomination, but was also named Billboard's Woman of the Year. 2016 is looking to be no different.

Following her win at for 'Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie' for her performance on FX's AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL at GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS this week, Gaga opened up to reporters backstage, confirming she was at work on a new album, with an expected release date of sometime this year.

"You know, I am putting out an album this year. I won't tell you when!" she said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

On the "style" of the next album, Gaga wouldn't confirm if it'd be more in tune with her tone of recent years, or if she'd take it back to the theatrics that made her famous.

"That's a difficult thing to say as I don't know that you yet know what I will look like for my next album, as I'm still creating all of those things," she said. "It's something that is a gradual change always with me," she said. "What was nice about playing The Countess is it reminded me that in my own life and in my music, I'm always - at times - playing a character, and I become them fully. And living inside of her was liberating, I'll tell you, because she doesn't give a sh- about anything."

The Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter has sold over 27-million albums, 130-million singles, and over 4-million tickets globally to her award-winning live performances.

Lady Gaga has won a total of 6 GRAMMY AWARDS - her most recent this week for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for Cheek To Cheek, her 2014 collaboration with Tony Bennett, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She recently starred on TV in FX's AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL.
