EOnline reports that Lady Gaga has become the first Twitter user to reach the the milestone of accumulating 20 million followers on her account, making her the "most followed" person in history. According to the report, her 20 millionth Twitter follower signed up this past weekend.
In second place in the race for Twitter followers is pop star Justin Bieber with 18.1 million followers, followed by Katy Perry with 15.7 million, Shakira with 14.7 million, and Rihanna, who boasts 14.5 million followers.
Last week, the international superstar appeared at Harvard University along with Oprah Winfrey to launch her 'Born This Way Foundation', a new initiative to empower young people who have been subjected to bullying. The singer has passionately fought against bullying through both her music and her appearances.
Gaga made light of her recent feat of becoming Twitter's most followed person. Upon receiving her 20 millionth follower, the singer's posted, "Best night ever. watching bridal television with HAUS while my stylist burst into tears wishing he was there to style the brides."
