The 2 nd annual La Costa Film Festival, to be held September 18th 21st, 2014, is now accepting film submissions as well as seeking sponsors and volunteers for the four-day event.

With rave reviews of the festival's debut, the La Costa Film Festival will continue its mission to combine a unique cultural experience with one of the finest destinations in America. Carlsbad is a charming coastal city in North San Diego County that offers near perfect year round temperatures, a dynamic enthusiasm for sports and a genuine appreciation for the arts. It is also home to exquisite cuisine, world renowned craft beers, and boutique wines. The Film Festival is once again hosted by the world famous La Costa Resort and Spa, which was recently added to the Omni Hotels luxury group. As a returning Premier Sponsor, the Omni La Costa is eager to display the finest in hospitality to filmmakers, and film lovers. Many of the Festival screenings, filmmaker discussion panels, galas and receptions will be held at the world class resort.

Highlights from last year included a celebrity Sports Film Jury, which included Freida Mock, the Academy Award and Emmy winning Producer/Director/Writer/Filmmaker. With a leading sports section, the Film Festival offered a fine selection of narratives, documentaries, and shorts from around the world. The four-day event also included Q&A sessions by filmmakers, an industry panel discussion, two red carpet galas, family night, and after parties. The San Diego premiere of 'At Middleton,' with its star Andy Garcia, and most of the cast, as well as Director, Co-Writer Adam Rodgers and Co-Writer Glenn German present made for an especially memorable closing night.

Founded by La Costa residents Michael and Ruby Callihan, the La Costa Film Festival is operated through La Costa Dreams, Inc. (2013), which is a Carlsbad non-profit public benefit corporation, with all net proceeds going directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad.
