Speaking at Variety's Entertainment & Technology Summit yesterday, LOST co-creator Damon Lindelof claimed that the long-running ABC drama series will eventually return in some form in the future.

Revealed Lindelof, "It's been two years and we told the story we wanted to tell," but quickly added, "I do feel like the world has not seen the end of 'Lost'."

The Star Trek writer and producer explained that he would like to see a new production team take on the return of the series. "It would be hypocritical for me to say I'm going to [reboot] Star Trek, but I don't want anyone to touch LOST."

The final episode of LOST aired on ABC in May 2010. Lindelof served as executive producer and wrote 45 episodes of the show which he co-created with J.J. Abrahms. In Lost's sixth and final season, it averaged over 11 million viewers per episode. It was the recipient of the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2005, Best American Import at the British Academy Television Awards in 2005, the Golden Globe Award for Best Drama in 2006 and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series.
