LIVE WITH KELLY AND RYAN Announces the Winner of LIVE'S HOLIDAY WISH LIST

This morning on "Live with Kelly and Ryan," Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest surprised Amy Turley from Maceo, Kentucky, with the news that she had been chosen as the winner of "Live's Holiday Wish List" contest. Amy was honored for an amazing selfless act: donating a kidney to help a perfect stranger.

The show partnered with UPS on "Live's Holiday Wish List," in conjunction with the UPS Wishes Delivered campaign, to give one special and deserving person an extra dose of holiday cheer this season by making a wish come true. Entries poured in from around the country, but one incredible story stood out. Amelia Johnston from Louisville, Kentucky, wrote into "Live" explaining that her husband, Ed, was in need of a kidney. None of Ed's friends or family were a match, so they took to social media to get the word out.

About 100 miles away, Amy Turley came across the post on Facebook and felt compelled to help. She drove four hours just to get tested, and it turned out she was a match. On Nov. 16, 2017, Amy donated one of her kidneys to Ed. Her kindness and bravery united two unknown families forever, and thankfully, she and Ed are both recovering nicely.

In Amelia's letter, she said that she wished Amy and her family "could take a trip of a lifetime to Disney World," so "Live" is sending them on a weeklong WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort vacation. Plus, there was one more big surprise: The hosts presented her with a check for $10,000.
