LIMITLESS, based on the 2011 movie starring current Broadway star Bradley Cooper, is among three more pilot orders for CBS. In addition, Deadline writes that the network has picked up two comedies from Dan O'Shannon and Tad Quill.
LIMITLESS acts as a sequel to the film, following Brian Sinclair (played by Cooper in the movie) "as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced into using his newfound drug enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI."
Written and executive produced by Craig Sweeny and exec produced by Cooper with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the LIMITLESS pilot will be directed by Neil Burger. Burger also produces alongside the film's writer and producer Leslie Dixon, as well as Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley, Tom Forman, Heather Kadin, Todd Phillips, Scott Kroopf, Andrew Marcus and Ray Ricord.
One of the untitled comedies is penned by MODERN FAMILY's Dan O'Shannon and HAPPYLAND's Peter Warren. It centers on "a group of friends and family at three different times in their lives." Also producing are Clark Peterson & Dennis Erdman and Eric & Kim Tannenbaum.
Tad Quill's ANGEL FROM HELL is described as: "When Amy enters Allison's life and claims to be her guardian angel, they form an unlikely friendship and Allison can't be sure if Amy is an angel or just nuts." Quill is also behind CBS's upcoming series Taxi-22, starring John Leguizamo.
