Billboard.com reports that the 2012 release from Scottish singer Emeli Sande and the soundtrack to Universal Pictures' LES MISERABLES are the best-selling albums in Great Britain year-to-date.

The Official Charts Company reported on Tuesday that as of the end of the third quarter, Sande's debut album "Our Version of Events," sold more than 591,000 copies while the soundtrack to Tom Hooper's Les Miserables has sold 437,000 copies in the U.K. since its release in January.

The Republic Records album features 20 songs from the film, including Anne Hathaway's version of "I Dreamed a Dream".

Cameron Mackintosh's 2012 big screen adaptation of the musical boasted an all-star cast including Hugh Jackman, Oscar winner Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, with Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, LES MISERABLES tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless Testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for Decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
