LATE SHOW Live Broadcasts Set New Records for Single Day Streams on Digital Platforms

THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT, featuring live broadcasts on the four nights of the Republican National Convention, scored in both Nielsen ratings and social media buzz, in the week ending July 21.

According to Nielsen live plus same day ratings, THE LATE SHOW averaged 2.52m viewers, its largest weekly audience since the week ending May 6. Among key demographics, THE LATE SHOW averaged 0.5 in adults 18-49 and 0.3 in adults 18-34, the best ratings in those measures since the week ending June 24. In adults 25-54, THE LATE SHOW averaged 0.7, its best performance since the week ending May 13.

Compared to the prior week, THE LATE SHOW was up +21% in viewers (from 2.08m), +17% in adults 25-54 (from 0.6), +25% in adults 18-49 (from 0.4) and +50% in adults 18-34 (from 0.2). THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT was in its closest competitive position with "The Tonight Show" in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since the week ending April 22.

Across social platforms, THE LATE SHOW also experienced tremendous growth with live events and clips including, The Hungry for Power Games: RNC Edition, Jon Stewart Takes Over Colbert's Late Show Desk, Melania Trump Did Not Plagiarize her RNC Speech and The Condiments Cam.

On CBS.com and the CBS App, THE LATE SHOW's average unique users and total visits per day last week surged by more than +600% over the prior four week average, and by quadruple digit percentage points versus last year. THE LATE SHOW also broke new single-day records for total streams on Friday, July 22 and had its second highest day on Monday.
