StandOut Productions and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center present a screening of the award-winning documentary I Stand Corrected, followed by a hosted reception and a concert by the film's subject, transgender jazz bass virtuoso Jennifer Leitham. This special event celebrates the one-year anniversary of the film's premiere and is a rare opportunity to see the film and Ms. Leitham's acclaimed trio in one evening.

I Stand Corrected charts Leitham's extraordinary rise to the top as a virtuoso of the upright bass. John Leitham built a career playing with some of the best: Mel Tormé, Doc Severinson, Woody Herman's Thundering Herd. She then, after transitioning, had to rebuild her career as Jennifer Leitham. The film explores her story of success and survival, of betrayal and compassion, and the risks one takes to embrace her true self. Directed and produced by Andrea Meyerson for StandOut Productions, the film has won numerous awards from audiences and juries at film festivals across the U.S.A., including the American Documentary Film Festival, Outfest 2012, Image Out, Rochester Gay & Lesbian Film Festival Documentary Film Festival, Trinidad Independent Film Festival, and many more.

The film's subject, Jennifer Leitham, and its director, Andrea Meyerson, will be in attendance for a Q & A and meet & greet at the event. More information is available at istandcorrectedmovie.com.

I Stand Corrected will screen tonight, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Renberg Theatre (200-seat capacity), The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 N. McCadden Place, Hollywood (one block east of Highland, north of Santa Monica Blvd. Free parking). COST: $25, General Admission. Proceeds benefit the free & low-cost services provided by the Center.
