Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has confirmed via twitter that Kristen Wiig will play villainess "Cheetah" in the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel.
Wiig starred for seven seasons on NBC's SNL, where she was a regular from 2005-12. She earned three supporting actress in a comedy Emmy nominations. In recent years she has appeared on the big screen in BRIDESMAIDS, for which she earned an Oscar nomination for co-writing the original screenplay, DOWNSIZING and MOTHER!
Gal Gadot stars in the title role of "Wonder Woman," an epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins ("Monster," AMC's "The Killing"), marking the DC Super Hero's first-ever standalone feature film. The first Wonder Woman film has taken in over $769.7 million worldwide so far, and marks the highest-grossing live-action film directed by a woman.

In Wonder Woman, THE STORY OF DIANA is told, who is the daughter of Hippolyta and grows up on the Amazon island of Themyscira. After American pilot and spy Steve Trevor crashes offshore of the island and is rescued by her, he tells the Amazons about the ongoing World War. Diana, thinking the war is caused by an old enemy of the Amazons, then leaves her home in order to end the conflict.
