Actress/comedian Kristen Johnston, currently starring in TV Land's hit sitcom THE EXES, has revealed that after months of illness, she has been diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disorder, which has forced her to miss filming on two upcoming episodes of the series.
Johnston announced the news on her personal Facebook page, which read:
"Hey guys, I've put this off as long as possible, but it's time for me to be upfront with you about something that's been going on with me.
Short(ish) version: I've been really, really sick since early Sept. Full body muscle weakness to the extent that just walking difficult, stairs impossible and I even need a neck brace to hold my head up. Lying down I'm fine, which is great for writing or killing time on social media (thank you all!!), but it's kind of disasterous when you're in a sitcom that requires tons of physical comedy. Through the fall, I shot as much of The Exes as I possibly could, but eventually I did have to (BEGRUDGINGLY) miss two episodes. Thank GOD for Leah Remini!! Her first episode airs Jan 1st, and it's truly hilarious, I've seen it. Seriously, you guys will laugh your asses off at her as Stuart's sister."The Exes" revolves around the unlikely trio of Phil (Faison), Haskell (Knight) and Stuart (Basche), three roommates and divorcés who have finally found bromance after initially being forced to live together by their divorce attorney and landlord, Holly (Kristen Johnston). Stuart, a dentist, has finally started dating again, Phil's client list is ever-expanding as he becomes one of the top sports agents at his firm, and Haskell, a former homebody, is getting his game back. Meanwhile, Holly's just trying to find Mr. Right and her assistant, Eden (Kelly Stables), is never short on advice. Guest stars like Diedrich Bader ("The Drew Carey Show"), Lisa Ann Walter ("The Parent Trap") and Leslie Jordan ("Will & Grace") add significant twists and laughs to this season's already hilarious storylines.
