In partnership with PROJECT RUNWAY All Stars, King-a leading interactive entertainment company for the mobile world-and PROJECT RUNWAY judge and style icon Nina Garcia will come together to unveil a unique episode inspired by CANDY CRUSH Saga, one of the world's most iconic mobile games.
Candy Crush Saga will make its debut during the PROJECT RUNWAY ALL STARS episode airing on Lifetime US at 9pm EST on Thursday, March 22.
The episode will feature guest judge Nina Garcia, style icon and ELLE Editor-in-Chief, who unveils a CANDY CRUSH Saga-themed design challenge, where contestants must create a "resort wear" look inspired by episodes from the game. For episode assignments, designers must play level 20 of the game, and the highest scorer gets their first choice of five episodes (Sticky Savannah for Safari Resort Wear, Taffy Tropics for Tropical Resort Wear, Brulee Bay for Beachside Resort Wear, Lemonade Lake for Lakeside Resort Wear and Marshmallow Mountains for Mountain Resort Wear).
"Whether it's creating symmetry, choosing the perfect color or incorporating the element of surprise, plenty of parallels exist when it comes to designing a game and designing a magazine," said Nina Garcia. "As an avid player of CANDY CRUSH Saga, it was a treat to work with King on this special PROJECT RUNWAY ALL STARS episode, which perfectly embodies the crossroads of fashion and technology."
Having just celebrated its fifth anniversary, CANDY CRUSH Saga has demonstrated its ubiquity, as hundreds of millions of people around the world play the game each day. The partnership with cult TV show PROJECT RUNWAY ALL STARS brings fans of the CANDY CRUSH franchise a new opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of the fashion world, as contestants use the game as inspiration to create true style statements.
"After previously working with Nina to design a special level of CANDY CRUSH Saga, we thought she would be the perfect partner to merge the gaming and fashion worlds once again, but this time, on the set of PROJECT RUNWAY All Stars," said Yonna Ingolf, narrative designer at King. "We're excited to bring this collaboration to our fans, giving them a chance to see their favorite game inspire works of visual art."
To watch the episode, tune in tonight at 9pm EST on Lifetime.
