New York's THIRTEEN, the flagship station of PBS, is engaged in a year-long celebration to commemorate its 50th anniversary. To help celebrate, Kids THIRTEEN is inviting children grades K - 8 in the tri-state area, to create a poster inspired by their favorite THIRTEEN kids programming to wish THIRTEEN a happy 50th Anniversary. The contest runs through December 7, 2012.
Entries can be submitted in one of two categories: grades K- 5 or grades 6-8. One grand prize winner and 13 runner-ups (collectively, "Winners") will be selected from each category. All entries must be emailed, postmarked or submitted at one of the locations of the Museum Workshops, where children may create their poster, no later than Friday, December 7, 2012. Winners will be notified by January 9, 2013 and will be subsequently announced on the contest's Web site. The winning posters will be used as a membership premium for new members of THIRTEEN during the 50th Anniversary season.

-Staten Island Children's Museum - Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
-DiMenna Children's History Museum - Saturdays, September 29, October 27, and November 17 from 1 - 3 p.m.
-Museum of the City of New York - Sunday, September 30 & October 28 from 10:30 to noon, and Saturday, November 3 from 1:30 - 3 p.m.
-Brooklyn Children's Museum (Drop-off station starting September 22)
Judges will include employees of THIRTEEN Interactive and its affiliates and educators. The posters will be judged based upon inclusion of the "Happy 50th Anniversary THIRTEEN!" theme, creativity and originality, and visual clarity and appeal. Among the prizes the grand prize winner will receive include:
Plus, 13 runner-ups from each grade group (K-5 and 6-8) will receive a Kids THIRTEEN prize pack.
