Kevin Tsujihara and Elizabeth Daley to be Honored at U.S.-China Entertainment Summit Image

Asia Society Southern California will host the U.S.-China Entertainment Summit and Gala on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. This signature annual event - which began in 2010 as the U.S.-China Film Summit - will be held at the Skirball Cultural Center from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST. The Gala Dinner will follow at 6:00 p.m.

We are delighted to be honoring global leaders who have built bridges between the U.S. and China:

  • Kevin Tsujihara will be honored for his vision and leadership. As Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO, he has innovated to stay ahead in a dynamic global market and has advocated for diversity and inclusion. Two fresh results of his leadership: Crazy Rich Asians, which marked a cultural watershed for Asian and Asian-American talent; and The Meg, the most successful U.S.-China co-production to date.

  • Elizabeth Daley, Dean and Steven J. Ross/Time Warner Professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, will be honored as an education pioneer. In a quarter century as dean, Daley has built the world's premier film school through a commitment to diversity and global education. Among her many international initiatives, USC has had partnerships with Chinese universities for over a decade.

The 2018 Summit, our ninth annual edition, builds on our record of bringing together the most important executives, producers, investors and creative professionals in Hollywood and China. We will be exploring topics in film and television; digital businesses, such as streaming and gaming; as well as animation and cutting-edge finance tools for entertainment, such as blockchain. Our featured speakers include:

Jiang Wei, CEO, Legendary East, & General Manager, Wanda Media
Albert Cheng, Co-Head of Television, Amazon Studios
Kevin Lin, Co-Founder, Twitch
Jon Turteltaub, Director, The Meg
