"APOLLO 8: A CHRISTMAS MOON" an award-winning film from documentary filmmaker Kevin Stirling, that celebrates the historic 1968 mission of Apollo 8, has been named an Official Selection in the prestigious 2018 Las Cruces International Film Festival.

"I am very grateful and truly honored that "Apollo 8: A Christmas Moon" has been chosen as an Official Selection for the 2018 Las Cruces International Film Festival," said Kevin Stirling, the film's producer and director. "The Las Cruces International Film Festival is an amazing film festival and one of the best film festivals in the country," Stirling said.

Viewers will recall the epic Christmas flight of Apollo 8 both for its remarkable space exploration achievements as well as the uplifting sense of hope the mission provided to a war-weary nation in 1968, when three American astronauts (Commander Frank Borman, Command Module Pilot James A. Lovell Jr., and Lunar Module Pilot William A. Anders) joined the pantheon of space explorers, as they became the first humans ever to leave Earth's gravitational forces, successfully journeying roundtrip to the Moon, as the entire world watched in suspense, awe and wonder.

"Apollo 8: A Christmas Moon" features spectacular NASA footage, interviews with NASA officials and award-winning journalists who covered NASA during the 1960s: George F. Alexander (Newsweek, LA Times), Mark Bloom (NY Daily News), Hugh W. Harris (Director, NASA Public Affairs), Bob Button (NASA Public Affairs), Victor McElheny (Boston Globe), John Noble Wilford (New York Times) and others.

Stirling, a director, producer, and editor, provides a broad range of film and video services through his production company NCI Film Productions and can be reached for corporate/commercial film/TV projects (domestic & foreign) at info@ncivp.com
