The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) is pleased to announce that Marvel Studios President and Producer Kevin Feige will receive the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment at the 2018 British Academy Britannia Awards. He joins previously announced honorees Steve McQueen, who will receive the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing, and Cate Blanchett, who will receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film.

The British Academy Britannia Awards is BAFTA's biggest event outside of the U.K. This year's ceremony will take place on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and will be presented by American Airlines.

"Kevin has propelled the Marvel brand to new heights, harnessing the very best international talent, with an unprecedented track record of back-to-back success. We are honored to recognize him with this year's Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment," said BAFTA Los Angeles Chairman Kieran Breen.

Recipients of The Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Excellence in Worldwide Entertainment are that rare type of iconic and trail-blazing individuals whose innovative approach has had a profound, lasting impact on the global industry.

Kevin Feige has been the driving creative force behind several billion-dollar franchises and an unprecedented number of blockbuster feature films, all connected to create the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige oversees Marvel Studios' feature film productions, whose 20 films released have all opened No. 1 at the box office and collectively grossed over $17 billion worldwide. Six of the MCU films have crossed the $1 billion threshold at the global box office. In April, "Avengers: Infinity War" opened and broke box-office records with $257 million domestically and $630 million worldwide in its opening weekend. Eleven days after release, the film crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide, breaking the record for the shortest time to reach $1 billion in box-office receipts. The film's worldwide box office exceeds $2 billion to date, MAKING IT the highest-grossing Marvel Studios' film thus far.

The Britannia Awards are BAFTA Los Angeles' highest accolades, recognizing both outstanding British talent, and exceptional international talent by virtue of their strong connection to British entertainment through their body of work. Known to be an enjoyable evening that captures a unique blend of sincerity and British irreverence, the evening also serves to celebrate the long-standing collaboration between the British and American industries. Proceeds from the event support BAFTA's Access for All campaign, a range of impactful educational initiatives created to provide a foot-in-the-door and a pathway to success for talented individuals, uninhibited by background, demographics or personal circumstance.
