According to Deadline.com, Ken Marino (Childrens Hospital) has joined HBO's EASTBOUND & DOWN. He will play Guy Young, a middle-aged athlete who still thinks he's in his prime, and will appear in all 8 episodes in the show's fourth, and final, season. Also joining the cast in a recurring role is Tim Heidecker, as one of Kenny's no-nonsense neighbors.

EASTBOUND & DOWN, the raucous HBO comedy series from creators Danny McBride and Jody Hill, began shooting its final earlier this month in North Carolina, with the season scheduled to launch SUNDAY, SEPT. 29 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT). McBride stars in the show as the irrepressible Kenny Powers, the former major league pitcher who is larger than life... and death.In the third season of EASTBOUND & DOWN, which concluded in April 2012, Kenny Powers finally made it back to the majors and recaptured his former glory, only to fake his own death and run back home to his beloved April, the mother of his child. The upcoming fourth season picks up the action several years later and finds Kenny living the American Dream with his family in North Carolina.
Marino last appeared in the indie films Milo and In a World..., as well as The Gates and Brenda Forever pilots. He created the TV series Burning Love, which airs on E!, and is in the process of writing True Freshman and Go The F To Sleep. He is currently filming for the Veronica Mars movie. Past TV credits include: Wainy Days, Party Down, The Motherhood, Reaper, Veronica Mars, Dawson's Creek, Leap of Faith, First Years, Men Behaving Badly and The State.
