Katy Perry to Host Teen Choice Awards, 8/9

Singer Katy Perry will host and sing at this year's Teen Choice Awards on August 9, etonline.com reported today. The awards ceremony, presented by Fox, will be shown live on television. The ceremony will also feature Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and the Jonas Brothers.

The Teen Choice Awards, which are voted on by teens from ages fourteen to nineteen, are presented in the realms of music, movies, sports, television, and fashion. Winners are presented with surfboards.

Katy Perry is a singer-songwriter best known for the hit 'I Kissed a Girl.' She has released two albums, 'Katy Hudson' and 'One of the Boys,' and will release 'Teenage Dream' this year. Other singles by Perry include 'Hot N Cold,' 'Thinking of You,' 'Waking Up in Vegas,' and 'California Gurls.'
