Kathy Griffin Fired from CNN's New Year's Eve Special Following Trump Controversy

As BWW reported earlier today, Kathy Griffin turned to social media this morning to apologize for posting a video which featured a bloody severed head of President Trump. The apology follows strong backlash from both Republicans and Democrats, and the initial post prompted an investigation by the Secret Service due to its violent nature. Yesterday, Anderson Cooper, Griffin's longtime co-host of CNN's New Years Eve special, said he was 'appalled' by the graphic image, describing it as 'clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.'

Today, the cable network announced on its official Twitter page that Griffin has been terminated as co-host of the annual special. Check out the post below:
