Katherine Heigl Cast in 8th Season of USA Hit SUITS

According to Variety, Katherine Heigl has been cast in the 8th season of the USA hit SUITS. Heigl, known for her role on GREY'S ANATOMY and 27 DRESSES, will play Samantha Wheeler, a talented new partner at Pearson Specter Litt who challenges the status quo and will either become the firm's greatest ally or most powerful enemy. She joins returning series regulars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman, and new series regular Dulé Hill. The new season begins production this April in Toronto.

"Joining 'Suits' was the perfect organic way to not only collaborate with an EP I admire deeply, but to also become part of a show and cast that I am an immense fan of," Heigl said. "I have watched 'Suits' from the very beginning and feel incredibly lucky to be the newest member of the Pearson Specter Litt family."

Suits is an American legal drama television series created and written by Aaron Korsh. The series premiered on June 23, 2011, on the cable network USA, and is produced by Universal Cable. Suits is set at a fictional law firm in New York City. The focal point of the show follows talented college dropout Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who initially works as a law associate for Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), despite never actually having attended law school. The show focuses on Harvey and Mike managing to close cases while maintaining Mike's secret.
