Telemundo announced today that internationally acclaimed actress Kate del Castillo and renowned actor, singer, songwriter and TV Host Carlos Ponce will be the official hosts of the 2017 BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARD, which will broadcast Thursday, April 27 at 8pm/7c and simultaneously on Universo, the fastest growing Spanish-language entertainment cable network in the U.S. In addition, newly confirmed performers to the prestigious event include reggaeton star Daddy Yankee, award-winning singer-songwriter and producer Luis Fonsi, Puerto Rican urban singer Wisin, Colombian singer- songwriter J Balvin, Puerto Rican reggaeton artist and producer Yandel, up-and-coming urban singer Ozuna, Telemundo "Guerra de Idolos" stars Luis Figueroa, Pedro Capo and Christian Pagan, rising urban act Bad Bunny, Mexican pop band Reik, the star and producer of "The Fate of the Furious" Vin Diesel, and renowned three-man performance troupe Blue Man Group. They join previously announced performers Alejandro Fernandez, Banda MS, CNCO, Gente De Zona, Morat, Nicky Jam, Ricardo Arjona and Zion & Lennox.
The network also announced an all-star line-up of musical artists, actors and television personalities who will take the stage as presenters for the awards show, including Colombian hip-hop and alternative music band ChocQuibTown, Mario Kreutzberger, known worldwide as Don Francisco, Puerto Rican songstress Ednita Nazario, Colombian singer Fanny Lu, Dominican singer and songwriter Juan Luis Guerra, regional Mexican powerhouse La Arrolladora Banda El Limon de Rene Camacho, "La Querida del Centauro" lead actor Michel Brown, Puerto Rican tropical star Olga Tañon, television personality Rosie Rivera, romantic pop duo Sin Bandera and Mexican pop singer Sofia Reyes. They will be joined by previously announced presenters Ana Maria Polo, Alberto Guerra, Angelica Celaya, Chiquis, Maria Leon, Danna Paola, Demian Bichir, Eva Longoria, Eugenio Derbez, and Maria Celeste Arraras.
Mexican actress Kate del Castillo currently stars as the fictional First Lady of Mexico, Emilia Urquiza, in the
Netflix original "Ingobernable." Castillo's breakthrough on the small screen was in 1991 with "Muchachitas." Since then, she has appeared in numerous telenovelas, series and English-language shows including "Weeds" and "Jane the Virgin." Her leading role in Telemundo's "La Reina del Sur" catapulted her to international fame, earning her numerous awards and acclaim. She has held supporting roles in over 30 films, including "Under the same Moon" with Eugenio Derbez, and most recently "The 33" starring Antonio Banderas and Rodrigo Santoro.
Film and television actor, singer, songwriter and host Carlos Ponce has made his mark in both English and Spanish language entertainment. His latest films include the role of Matthew Wright in "Spy" with Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne and Jude Law and
THE VOICE of Beaver on "Ice Age: Collision Course." In television, he most recently took on the leading role of Felix in the sitcom "Cristela," held a recurring role as Benjamin "Ben" Pacheco in "Devious Maids," and starred as Manuel Gallardo in Telemundo's "Silvana Sin Lana."
