On tonight's episode of NBC's The New Normal titled 'Boy Scouts Honor,' David (Justin Bartha), a former Eagle Scout, jumps at the chance to chaperone a Boy Scout overnight with his friend's son, despite Bryan's (Andrew Rannells) concerns. His skills earn him the respect of the other fathers and scouts, but when one father disagrees with his lifestyle, David's Boy Scout membership is revoked.

In a an interview appearing on EW.com today, 'New Normal' star Justin Bartha spoke about the controversial episode. "I think we touch on the topic in a responsible and interesting way. We're very proud of this episode and I think it embodies what we like to do with the show."

He continued, "I think the main concept of the show is to see how we evolve through other people's points of view and there's no right way to do anything. Like with this Boy Scout episode, the obvious instinct is that obviously the gay couple or gay man will absolutely disagree that they are not approving of homosexuality. But then you see that he comes into contact with another gentleman and has just as different and valid point of view."

'Glee's Ryan Murphy serves as creator/executive producer and director on the show along with creator/executive producer Ali Adler ("Glee," "Chuck") and executive producer Dante di Loreto ("Glee," "American Horror Story"). The episode airs tonight at 9:30 pm/ET on NBC
