Juliette Lewis is heading into WAYWARD PINES, Deadline reports.
The actress joins Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, and Melisa Leo for the new event series, slated for a premiere in 2014. Based on the best-selling novel "Pines" by Blake Crouch and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan ("The Sixth Sense," "Signs"), WAYWARD PINES is the intense new mind-bending event thriller evocative of the classic cult hit "Twin Peaks."
Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, "Crash," "City of Ghosts") is tasked to head to the secluded town of Wayward Pines, ID, to find two missing federal agents, one being his former partner and romantic interest Kate Hewson (Gugino). Challenged at every turn by the town's die-hard residents, no communication with the outside world, and no way out, Ethan's investigation only turns up more questions, the most important of which is: What's wrong with Wayward Pines?
Lewis will play a woman named Beverly, "a warm and approachable small-town bartender who doesn't mince words. Ethan quickly learns that Beverly is just as wary of Wayward Pines as he is."

Lewis first garnered international attention and acclaim in 1991 with her turn as Danielle Bowden in Martin Scorsese's remake of Cape Fear, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1991. Over the next few years, she won further critical support in Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives, Peter Medak's Romeo Is Bleeding, and opposite Brad Pitt in Kalifornia. In 1993, she acted alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp in the drama film What's Eating Gilbert Grape.
