Digitalspy.com reports that Jude Law is reportedly set to portray Douglas Fairbanks the an upcoming biopic on the life of actresss Mary Pickford. As previously reported, the role of Pickford will be played by Broadway's Lily Rabe. Jennifer DeLia and Julie Pacino will produce the film.
Fairbanks was one of three men married to Pickford during her long and chaotic career. Along with Charlie Chaplin and director DW Griffiths, the duo formed United Artists studio in 1919. The script is being adapted from Eileen Whitfield's 'Pickford: The Woman Who Made Hollywood' by Josh Fagin.
Law was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1999 for his performance in Anthony Minghella's The Talented Mr. Ripley. In 2000 he won a Best Supporting Actor BAFTA Award for his work in the film. In 2003, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in another Minghella film, Cold Mountain.
