Jud 'Fabio' Birza Wins CBS' SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA

The season finale of SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA, which saw Jud "Fabio" Birza crowned the ultimate Survivor and winner of the $1 million grand prize, delivered 13.39 million viewers opposite football competition, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Dec. 19.

Note: Due to live sports programming on CBS (19 minutes of late-running football), ratings and time period rankings are tentative and subject to change.

At 7:30 PM, 60 MINUTES was first in households (10.6/18) and viewers (17.93m); it was tied for first in adults 25-54 (5.5/14) and second in adults 18-49 (4.1/12). If the ratings hold, this will be 60 MINUTES's best deliveries in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Dec. 14, 2008. Note: The Fast NTI's include 11 minutes of the SURVIVOR finale in the average.

The 8:30-10:30 PM season finale of SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA was second in households (7.2/11), viewers (13.39m), adults 25-54 (5.4/12) and adults 18-49 (4.1/10). Note: The SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA finale Fast NTI delivery included several minutes of the REUNION show.

From 10:30-11:30 PM, SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA REUNION SHOW delivered a 5.7/10 with 10.07m viewers, 3.9/10 in adults 25-54 and 3.0/08 in adults 18-49.

Last night's finale capped a winning season for SURVIVOR in its new Wednesday (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) time period. SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA, which has won its time period in viewers and key demographics every week against regular competition, improved the year-ago time period by +83% each in viewers (13.36m from 7.30m), adults 18-49 (4.2 from 2.3) and adults 25-54 (5.5 from 3.0). SURVIVOR was also up +1% in viewers compared to its own Thursday performance last season.

For the night, CBS was second in households (8.8/14), viewers (15.67m), adults 25-54 (5.7/13) and adults 18-49 (4.4/12).
