Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Star as Tightrope Walker Philippe Petit in TO REACH THE CLOUDS

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will soon be balancing on the high wire for the upcoming film TO REACH THE CLOUDS.
According to Deadline, the actor will star as Philippe Petit, who was the aerial artist at the center of James Marsh's well known 2008 documentary Man On Wire. Production is set to begin in May on the 3D film from director Robert Zemeckis and TriStar's Tom Rothman.
TO REACH THE CLOUDS will be shot in the vein of Avatar, Life of Pie and Gravity and will follow Petit and his team as they sneak to the top of the Twin Towers to tightrope-walk between them. The title comes from Petit's memoirs.
Zemeckis co-wrote the script with Christopher Browne. ImageMovers' Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey are also producing.
Gordon-Levitt's upcoming projects include Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and HitRECord on TV. His recent film credits include The Wind Rises, Don Jon, Lincoln, Looper, The Dark Knight Rises, 50/50, Inception and more.
