As first reported on Deadline.com, actors Jonah Hill and James Franco have joined the cast of the upcoming drama TRUE STORY. The film will be produced by Brad Pitt, who co-starred with Hill in the Academy award nominated film 'Moneyball'. Rupert Goold will direct the project which is an adaptation of a memoir by journalist Michael Finkel.
Hill will play Finkel, who was a writer for The New York Times Magazine in 2002. The story takes place at the time "when he learned that Christian Longo was captured in Mexico after a long stint on the FBI Ten Most Wanted List for killing his family. Longo had been living under the identity of Finkel. The very next day, the real Finkel was fired by the editors of The New York Times, right after they ran an editor's note declaring that he had falsified parts of an investigative article."
Franco will play Longo in the film who eventually helps unravel the complicated situation.
