Actor Johnny Depp is set to star in the newest dark comedy King of the Jungle, based on the Wired magazine article about John McAfee.

According to Deadline, the comedy will be presented by Condé Nast Entertainment, Zaftig Films, MadRiver Pictures, and Epic Entertainment, with IMR International handling foreign sales at Cannes and CAA repping domestic rights. Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski are set to write the script.

Joshua Davis' Wired article "John McAfee's Last Stand, "chronicled the creator of the McAfee Antivirus software, who made a fortune and then moved to the jungle in Belize. But the true story lies in why he moved to the jungle in the first place.

Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" on May 26.
