Actor John Goodman loves his adopted hometown of New Orleans because there's something special about the city, he says in an interview on "Eat, Drink and Be Merry," the food-themed edition of CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH Charles Osgood to be broadcast Nov. 18, 2012 (9:00 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.
"There was just something about the place," Goodman tells Michelle Miller. "The air carries music. The air carries the aroma of food. You smell the river. You can smell the sea. I don't know, it's ooh la la."Goodman takes Miller to the famed Commander's Palace in New Orleans, one of his favorite spots, which just happens to be three blocks from his house. There he talks about some of his latest roles, his family and giving up alcohol five years ago."If I don't pick up that first drink, I'm fine," he says. "Let the demons chase me, and they can knock all they want. I'm not home."Miller's full interview with Goodman will be broadcast Nov. 18 on CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH Charles Osgood (9:00 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Rand Morrison is the executive producer.
