John Cho will star in the new Netflix multi-generational drama, TIGERTAIL, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film comes from Alan Yang, who co-created the Netflix show MASTER OF NONE.
TIGERTAIL focuses on two people's poor life choices and the consequences of those decisions, exploring themes of regret, longing, passion and repression while spanning continents and generations, from 1950s Taiwan to present-day New York City.
Yang is directing and he wrote the script based on events that happened in his family. Filming for TIGERTAIL is set to begin next week in New York and Taiwan.
Tzi Ma and Christine Ko are also starring in the drama.
Cho can currently be seen in SEARCHING, the Sundance thriller that opens today in a platform release. He also stars in THE OATH, the Ike Barinholtz comedy which is set to premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
Yang won an Emmy with Aziz Ansari for writing on MASTER OF NONE. He is also known for working on NBC's PARKS AND RECREATION.
