Deadline.com reports that John Cho has just signed a deal to join the cast of the new NBC comedy GO ON as a series regular. The actor made a guest starring appearance in the show's pilot episode as the boss of Matthew Perry's Ryan, who stubbornly refused to allow the sportscaster to go back on air until he sought out counseling for his issues. According to the report, Cho's character will now become a mainstay on the series, marking the actor's first regular series role since ABC's FlashForward.
GO ON stars Matthew Perry, whose character is described as "charming and cocky radio sportscaster Ryan King who is getting over the death of his wife with the help of the members of his support group."
Cho is best known for his starring role in the film Harold & Kumar. He has also appeared in the Star Trek and American Pie franchises. He will soon be seen in the upcoming Star Trek sequel and the feature comedy ID Theft opposite Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. He will also star in the remake of Total Recall with Colin Farrell. Cho's TV credits include a voiceover role in the animated version of Harold & Kumar for Adult Swim and Lionsgate TV.
