Joe Earley has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer for Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX), it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, to whom he will report. In his new position, Earley will play a key management role in all areas of the network, including scripted programming, casting, scheduling, research, audience strategy, digital, and business affairs, in addition to continuing oversight of marketing and communications. Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment who oversees alternative programming, reports directly to Reilly.
"Joe is not only an inspired and creative marketing strategist, but he should own the patent on the concept of 'team builder,'" said Reilly. "He is a dynamic leader who inspires partnership and a sense of collective purpose across our entire company, and that's why I am privileged to have Joe at my side guiding FOX as our COO."
Previously, Earley served as President of Marketing & Communications for the network, responsible for all FOX marketing functions, entertainment publicity, corporate communications and talent relations, as well as creative services, the company's internal corporate marketing, promotion and special projects arm. In this role, he drove the strategy behind the successful launches of recent hit shows including GLEE, NEW GIRL and THE X FACTOR, as well as the ongoing marketing and communications strategies supporting FOX favorites such as AMERICAN IDOL, "House," FRINGE, "24" and THE SIMPSONS across broadcast, print, digital and VOD platforms. In addition, Earley created and introduced the network's highly successful "So Fox" branding campaign.

Earley joined FOX in 1994 as a Senior Publicist and subsequently rose to senior executive roles in publicity, corporate communications and marketing. Before joining FOX, Earley spent several years in Media Relations at HBO. He began his entertainment career in production and development with producer Gale Anne Hurd.
A recipient of Broadcasting & Cable magazine's prestigious Brand Builders Award, Earley is Co-Chairman of the Promax/BDA Board of Directors.
