Actor Jim Parsons was a guest on Wednesday's The Leonard Lopate Show on WNYC. The actor discussed his role on the hit television show "The Big Bang Theory," as well as starring in the upcoming HBO version of "The Normal Heart."
"We're going to start shooting it this summer," revealed Parsons of the HBO project. "It will have very different cast members, although I will be playing Tommy [Boatwright] again." The actor also revealed that while Joe Mantello, who helmed the 2011 Broadway production, will be in the film, he will not be directing. Check out the interview in full here!Parsons is best known for playing Sheldon Cooper on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, for which he has received several awards including the Television Critics Association award for the highest individual achievements in comedy,the National Association of Broadcasters Television Chairman's Award, and two consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Parsons most recently starred in the Tony-winning production of THE NORMAL HEART. He recently starred in the Broadway revival of Harvey.
