CINCO will join the comedian Jim Gaffigan's four previous Netflix comedy specials, ("Obsessed," "Mr. Universe," "King Baby," and "Beyond The Pale") presently available on the streaming service. In an unprecedented move, Netflix exclusively has the rights to the entire Gaffigan comedy special library worldwide.
"Cinco" captures Gaffigan's recent "Fully Dressed Tour," which included a sold-out performance at The Madison Square Garden Arena in New York, and smashed a Salt Lake City record with 29,000 tickets sold. Dubbed the "King of Clean Comedy" by THE WALL Street Journal, Gaffigan opened for Pope Francis on his first visit to the United States. As of June 2016, Gaffigan was the most popular comic on all of Pandora with over 647 million spins. The show premieres on Netflix on January 10th.
The multi-Grammy nominated comedian and New York Times best selling author ("Dad is Fat" and "Food: A Love Story") recently pulled the plug on his critically acclaimed television show, "The Jim Gaffigan Show," so he and his writing/producing partner and wife, Jeannie Gaffigan, could spend more time with their five young children. Mrs. Gaffigan co-wrote and directed "Cinco."
Gaffigan will appear in season 3 of FX's "Fargo" with Ewan McGregor. Additionally the comedian/actor is scheduled to appear in six motion pictures in 2017 including Chappaquidick (Jason Clarke, Kate Mara), The Bleeder (Liev Schrieber, Naomi Watts) Guardian Brothers (Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman).
