The Press Association reports that actor, comedian Jim Carrey is considering the possibility of reprising his role from Universal Pictures' BRUCE ALMIGHTY. In the 2003 original film, Carrey played a TV news reporter who is offered the chance to take over the role of God for one week.

The original film was followed by a 2007 sequel entitled 'Evan Almighty'. That movie featured Bruce's former co-worker Evan Baxter, played by Steve Carell, in a take-off of the Noah's Ark saga.

According to the report, screenwriters Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel will pen the new film, which is currently in Early Stages of development. Universal has not released casting details for the upcoming project and there is no word yet as to whether the franchise's original stars, Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Aniston would be reprising their roles.
