Jewish Life Television (JLTV) will broadcast highlights of Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur services held at Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre, coast-to-coast on the eve of Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre), today, October 3, 2014 (5775) and on Yom Kippur, Saturday, October 4, 2014 (5775), Rabbi David Baron of the Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre announced today. The services will also be broadcast coast to coast via DIRECTV, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and other cable stations, as well as on the Armed Forces Network, reaching military bases and embassies globally.

Rabbi Baron said, "The program will feature past year's Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur guests, including Gal Lusky, CEO and Founder of Israeli Flying Aid; Curt Lowens, a Broadway and Film Actor and Holocaust SURVIVOR and Resistance Member who made his Broadway debut in "Stalig 17" as an S.S. Guard and as a 17-year-old Jewish-German resistance fighter rescued two downed American flyers, Airman Second Lieutenant and Navigator, Reginald E. ("Mac") McNeil, and Airman, Radio Man and Gunner, Tom Wilcox during World War II in the Netherlands in 1944; and Debra Lynn Fine, a Leading Business Executive in Consumer Products and Media Companies who distracted a gunman who shot her multiple times in a mass shooting at Santa Monica College on June 7, 2013, saving the life of another woman."

In addition, the broadcast will include musical performances by the temple's cantors, Ilysia J. Pierce and Jordan Bennett, two Broadway performers, along with performances by the temple's choir composed of singers from the Los Angeles Opera and Los Angeles Master Chorale, led by the temple's music director and Emmy Award-nominated composer, Sharon Farber. Also appearing in the broadcast will be some renowned artists, including: Adrienne Baron, Ashley Bell, Michael Bell, Mike Burstyn, Corky Hale, Mary Hart, Leonard Maltin, Sela Ward and Marianne Williamson. This year represents JLTV's 18th year of internationally broadcasting and webcasting the Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts Yom Kippur services for the homebound, those recovering from illness and America's military forces. Last year's services were viewed by over 300,000 people.

Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) is the holiest day of the year on the Jewish calendar; it is a day of prayer and fasting for Jewish people around the world. The Eve of Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre) on Friday, October 3rd, and Yom Kippur on Saturday, October 4th represent the end of a 10-day period of repentance, which begins with the Jewish New Year 5775, Rosh Hashanah, on Wednesday evening, September 24th continuing on Thursday, September 25th. Historically, it is on the 10th day between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur on which Moses completed and brought down the second set of commandments from Mount Sinai, signifying that God had granted atonement for the people's sin of the Golden calf.

Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts' Yom Kippur program, especially filmed for the homebound and those who cannot attend a synagogue, will be aired on JLTV (Jewish Life Television) and can be viewed coast-to-coast on DIRECTV, Comcast and Time Warner. Highlights of last year's Kol Nidre services held at Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre will be broadcast nationwide on Friday, October 3, 2014 (5775) at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on both the East and West Coasts. Highlights of last year's Yom Kippur services held at Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre will be broadcast on Saturday, October 4, 2014 (5775) at 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon on both the East and West Coasts.
