EW.com reports that recording artist Jewel will be a judge on the next season of NBC's a cappella singing competition THE SING-OFF, replacing last year's panelist Sara Bareilles. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter will join Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman and Ben Folds on the series. Nick Lachey is set to return as host.
Commented NBC's president of alternative programming Paul Telegdy on the news, "There are very few musical artists as accomplished and talented as Jewel. Her addition to The Sing-Off judges panel, along with our stellar team of Shawn Stockman and Ben Folds, raises the showmanship of the series up another notch."
The series was put on hold last year but was brought back for a fourth season in March when executive producer Mark Burnett took the reins. The season will mark a reunion for the producer and Jewel who served as an adviser on his hit show The Voice last year.
"Jewel is one of America's greatest singer songwriters and is an amazing storyteller," commented Burnett "...The Sing-Off is sure to be its best [season] yet."NBC's THE SING-OFF will return to the programming line-up in December.
