GOTHAM has found its 'Tigress'. Just after the news that TRUE BLOOD's James Frain has signed on as a series regular for season 2 on FOX, TVLine reports that GRACEPOINT's Jessica Lucas will play the comic book series' latest villain.
Lucas will take on the role of Tabitha Galavan, aka Tigress, described as "the lead enforcer for her brother Theo, a billionaire industrialist hell-bent on taking over Gotham." She is "sexy and violent -- and toting a bullwhip! -- she's the opposite of her cold and calculating brother, deriving a sensual pleasure from the mayhem she's tasked with making."
Frain's character Theo is "a new Gotham arrival" and "the savior the city has been waiting for -- he is sexy, heroic, and lovingly devoted to his sister Tabitha...But behind Galavan's altruism is a centuries-old vendetta. Galavan and Tabitha (aka Tigress) will take chaos and violence to a new level in order to bleed Gotham. Their plan will lead to the creation of new villains... and the destruction of others."
Aside from GRACEPOINT, Lucas has appeared on TV in CULT, FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS, MELROSE PLACE, 90210, CSI, EDGEMONT, LIFE AS WE KNOW IT and more.
GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller ("The Mentalist," "Rome"), GOTHAM follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. The series stars Ben McKenzie ("Southland," "The O.C."), Donal Logue ("Vikings," "Sons of Anarchy"), Jada Pinkett Smith ("Hawthorne," "Collateral") and Robin Lord Taylor ("The Walking Dead").
GOTHAM will return on September 21, 2015 on FOX.
