According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jessica Chastain is set to produce and star in the forthcoming action film EVE, The movie comes from Voltage Pictures, and is written and directed by Matthew Newton. Chastain will produce with Freckle Films' Kelly Carmichael, and Nicolas Chartier and Dominic Rustam. Read more about the news from The Hollywood Reporter here!
In a statement, Chastain and Carmichael say, "Matthew is wonderfully adept at crafting complex and relatable characters. We've been fans of his work and are so thrilled to be partnering with him and Voltage on Eve."
Newton says, "I have always admired Jessica Chastain's work. So when I wrote Eve, an intelligent, strong, and incredibly capable character, she was my immediate first choice to bring her to life. I am humbled and thrilled to be collaborating with Jessica and Voltage on the film."
Ms. Chastain was nominated for a 2012 Academy Award®, Golden Globe® Award and a Screen Actor's Guild Award for her performance as "Celia Foote" in The Help. Her work in The Tree of Life (2011) and Take Shelter (2011) has garnered critical acclaim and multiple awards as Best Actress from the National Board of Review, New York Film Critics Circle, Los Angeles Film Critics Association and Chicago Film Critics Association. Jessica has a variety of feature film projects in the works including Lawless and the Kathryn Bigelow movie about Bin Laden scheduled for release in December 2012. She is also known for her roles in MOLLY'S GAME, INTERSTELLAR, and THE MOST VIOLENT YEAR.
