After weeks of swirling rumors, Jenny McCarthy has set the record straight today about the possiblity of her replacing Joy Behar on ABC's THE VIEW.
According to today's New York Post, McCarthy explains that she is busy with her own VH1 show and will therefore not be the permanent replacement on the long-running ABC chatfest. However, the funny lady does confirm that she will be guest-hosting once Behar exits the show.
She tells Extra, "I will be helping them while they're looking," and continued, "I can't [because] I have my own show...maybe someday in the future."
Behar will exit The View in August when her contract expires. In an interview with Deadline, she commented, "It seemed like the right time," she told the site today in an interview. "You reach a point when you say to yourself, 'Do I want to keep doing this?' There are other things on my plate I want to do - I've been writing a play, I've been neglecting my standup."Behar and Walters are the final two original VIEW members remaining on the show since its inception over 16 years ago.
