Jennifer Lawrence and The Lumineers' THE HUNGER GAMES Song at No. 17 on Charts

Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence not only stars in the hit HUNGER GAMES series, but she has also co-recorded a song for the latest film in the saga.

"The Hanging Tree," is currently at No. 17 on the Official Charts Company. The Lumineers both wrote the tune to the song from the books, contributing their vocal talents as well.

In the past, Lawrence had said she had no musical inclinations at all. Director Rob Lawrence said that she, "was horrified to sing, she cried a little bit in the morning she had to sing" the MOCKINGJAY song.

"But she did it and she did it all day - and she hated me for making her do it all day - but she did and it's great. She'll probably never really understand it because she's so sensitive about the singing."

The song does not appear on the album alongside songs by singers like Lorde and Charli XCX.

The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
