The Wrap reports that despite earlier rumors Jennifer Lawrence might be taking on the lead female role of 'Daisy Domergue' in Quentin Tarantino's new Western THE HATEFUL EIGHT, it's another Jennifer -- Jennifer Jason Leigh -- who is in talks for the part.

Leigh will join Samuel L. Jackson (Major Warren), Kurt Russell (John Ruth), Tim Roth (Oswaldo Mobray), Michael Madsen (Joe Gage) and Walton Goggins (Chris Mannix) and Denis Menochet (Bob) and, of course, Bruce Dern (General Smithers) in the cast.

HATEFUL EIGHT centers on a stagecoach disaster in Wyoming following the Civil War and the Confederate soldiers, local sheriff and four bounty hunters working to free a prisoner stuck biding their time together during a blizzard. Leigh's character 'Daisy Domergue,' is wanted for murder.

Leigh's recent big screen credits include Welcome to Me, Jake Squared, Hateship Loveship, The Moment, Kill Your Darlings and The Spectacular Now. She will next appear in Amityville: The Awakening and Anomalisa. Among her TV credits are Weeds, Revenge and Hercules. Leigh starred on Broadway in 2011's The House of Blue Leaves and before that appeared in Proof and Cabaret.

The Weinstein Company is planning to release THE HATEFUL EIGHT in 2015.
