Jennifer Hudson Wants to Be an EGOT Winner: 'I Would Love to Do Theater'

In an all-new interview with PEOPLE, Grammy and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson reveals that she hopes to add an Emmy and Tony Award to her collection in order to achieve the highly selective status of being an EGOT winner and shares her unusual plan to reach the accomplishment.

"I should get two more dogs," Hudson explains to PEOPLE while sharing the news that she will team with W Hotels Worldwide and the Human Rights Campaign for their "Turn It Up for Change" initiative supporting LGBT rights. "I got a dog and named it Oscar, and then I won my Oscar. And then I got a dog and named it Grammy, and then I won my Grammy. So I think I should get some dogs and name them Emmy and Tony - and it'll give me good luck, and I'll win ... [They're] like my good luck charms."

The former AMERICAN IDOL contestant went on to reveal that she truly would like to take on other areas of the entertainment world. "I would love to do television and theater," she shared.

Which show would you love to see Hudson make her Broadway debut in?

Hudson's highly anticipated album, "JHUD" was released on September 23 on RCA Records. The singer's 2008 debut album "Jennifer Hudson" won a Grammy Award for "Best R & B Album" and was followed up in 2011 with another critically acclaimed record entitled "I Remember Me." Both albums went certified RIAA Gold.

In addition to her music success, Hudson is known for her many film performances, including her role as "Effie" in the 2007 hit "Dreamgirls", for which she won an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA and an NAACP Image Award.
