The New York Post reports that SNL cast member Jason Sudeikis has officially announced his return to the long-running sketch comedy. The announcement ended months of speculation that the comedian would join departing cast mates Kristen Wiig, Abbey Elliott and Andy Samberg.

Earlier in the summer, Sudeikis hinted to Men's Journal that he may not be returning for the upcoming season. “It’s an amazing job and a horrible job,” he said. “You really do serve the show. It’s just like playing in a community college. Everybody knows they’re not going to be there forever. Even the coach wants to go to a D-I school.”

Sudeikis is known for his dead-on impersonations of Joe Biden and George Bush. However, with the upcoming presidential election this November, it is virtually guaranteed that SNL fans will be seeing a lot more of his take on current Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

The 38th season of Saturday Night Live returns this Saturday with Seth MacFarlane as host and Frank Ocean as musical guest.
